Monthly Group Coaching Session


At Pedal To Progression we are all about progressing your riding to achieve more fun on your bike!
Our clients tell us that they progress their riding more when they receive valuable feedback from a coach on a regular basis.

So we’re introducing monthly group coaching sessions offering unrivalled value with coaching from the island’s highest qualified and experienced mountain bike coach.

How the sessions work:

– A 2 hour session every month.
– Each session has a technical focus appropriate to all disciplines of mountain biking.
– Small group to maximise learning and a relaxed social setting!
– Locations suit the technical focus of the session & opportunity to ride new trails.
– Are you a racer? We can offer timing systems to measure your progress too!

JANUARY – Saturday 21st Jan 2-4pm at Cringle Platation (meet bottom car park).
Core Skills are essential even for the professionals. We’ll cover wheel lifts, hops and line choice on the trail.

FEBRUARY – Saturday 18th Feb 2-4pm at Cringle Plantation (meet at top car park).
Cornering is a key skill often overlooked with bad habits creeping in. We’ll unlock your free speed focusing on vision, line and your body position.

– Saturday 11th March 2-4pm at Arrassey (meet at top car park).
Singletrack Skills are a huge part of riding off road. We’ll help you understand how to carry momentum along the trail and identify the most appropriate lines for your skill level.


APRIL – Saturday 1st April (no joke) 2:30-4:30pm at Brookdale Plantation (meeting at Glen Auldyn Church).
Drop Offs are a popular skill riders want to learn. Here’s your chance to learn! We’ll cover how to get back on the ground whether your a beginner or want to refine your technique ready to hit taller or more technical drops.

MAY – Saturday 6th May 2-4pm at Sleau Whallian (meet St John’s Railway car park)
Steep terrain can be challenging for many. We’ll help you control your speed, avoid unecessary crashes and correct bad habits that are likely limiting your potential!

At every session we can make any necessary adjustments to your bike set up or suspension set up as your riding progresses!  Thinking about upgrading kit? We can advise and offer discounts on any kit you may need via our online shop too!


Our mountain bike group courses are great for riders looking for a cost effective way to learn new skills in a controlled environment. Your qualified coach will give clear step by step instructions so you can progress with a minimal risk of injury (sadly unlike unqualified coaches!).

Group sizes are kept small to maximise the contact time with your coach and ensure the highest quality of coaching. During the course you’ll receive positive feedback on the trail so you can make adjustments to your riding style straight away!

What do I need to wear for this session?

Wearing a helmet during the session is compulsory. Full length clothing (long sleeve jersey)and full finger gloves or knee pads is advised for off-road cycling. Please dress appropriately for the weather and riding conditions. Prepare for changable conditions!

What do I need to bring to the session?

Please bring anything you usually take with you on a ride (inner tube, pump, food, water etc.) ensure your bike is in full working order. Failure to do so may mean you can’t take part in the session.

Where will we meet?

We will meet in the car park closest to the area of the forest we need.
Each month, we will send an email with more detailed instructions.
