Learn To Ride (ALL AGES*)
The aims of ‘Learn To Ride’ sessions are to add the layers of skills that will make them happy, safe cyclists, able to get the most from their bike and the places that they ride it.
You’ll be surprised how much they can learn to do on their own, whilst making friends in a fun, social and relaxed environment.
The session is lead by a qualified cycling coach with over 10 years of delivering cycling activities to children of all ages (from two to seventy two) including riders with disabilities and has extensive training in LTAD (long term athlete development).
VENUE: Riley’s Garden Centre car park.
DATE: Every FRIDAY during school term times.
First session is Friday 18th September 2020.
*Children must be able to ride a pedal bike unaided, be able to stop on command and be under the age of 12.
Where will we meet?
You can park in the main garden centre car park (gravel area) and walk across the zebra crossing to meet us in the overflow car park on the right hand side.
Riley’s Garden centre is next door to Robinson’s main depot on Cooil Road.
What type of bike do I need?
All types of bikes can be catered for during the sessions.
Please ensure your bike is in good working order otherwise you may not be able to join in the session. No stabilisers or bikes with stunt pegs can be used during the session.
What do I need to wear for this session?
Wearing a helmet during the session is compulsory. Gloves are advised for cycling. Please dress appropriately for the weather and riding conditions. Prepare for changable conditions!
For children at this age, we encourage you to allow your child to become more independent. They will need to bring their own water bottle with their preferred drink and a spare inner tube for their bike.
